    Karen Russell

    PRESIDENT

    Ms. Russell founded and built a successful law firm which operated in Anchorage Alaska for 30 years. After raising her three children and growing the firm, she found art as a passion in retirement.

    Joe Bottomly

    VICE PRESIDENT

    Joe had a 31 year career as a trial lawyer.  Upon retirement, he pursued his passion for art by completing a 3 year drawing and painting program at the Florence Academy of Art.  He continues to paint. Joe has been the gallery chair, the chairman of the board at OSA and currently serves on the executive committee and the board of directors.

    Janice Kishner

    WORKSHOP COMMITTEE CHAIR

    After 45 years in hospital administration, Janice Kishner is now pursuing her true passion as a student at OSA; painting. She retired here from New Orleans four years ago and hopes to bring her experience in management to support the vision and mission of OSA.

    Erick Rodriguez

    TREASURER

    Erick's career in finance and creative passion provide the unique perspective for his contributions to OAC.  His love of art is inspired by family and a love of the natural world. Erick's paintings have been exhibited in galleries from NYC, Miami and Oregon.

    Scott Gellatly

    CLASS COMMITTEE CHAIR

    Painter and printmaker, whose work is exhibited and collected throughout the United States. He currently teaches printmaking, painting, and color theory both in person and online. Before becoming a full-time artist and instructor, Scott spent 20 years in the art material industry, in product development and marketing.

    Shahrad Malekfazeli

    GALLERY COMMITTEE CHAIR

    Professional artist who established his own studio and taught art for 20 years before moving to the US. Malekfazeli has exhibited internationally and won awards from Art Renewal Center, International Salon of Contemporary Art in France, and Modportrait in Spain.

    Warren Johnson


    Warren leads Scribe-X with a focus on solving documentation challenges through scalable, clinician-centered solutions. A former ICU nurse and regional nursing director at Providence Health, he brings decades of experience in clinical operations and healthcare innovation. Warren also founded ShiftWise and has dedicated his career to helping providers work more efficiently and sustainably.

    Michelle Joye


    Michelle is an experienced executive leader and lifelong Oregonian dedicated to strengthening inclusive, connected communities through education, philanthropy, and the arts. Her background spans operations management, nonprofit leadership, and trust management, bringing a thoughtful, people-centered approach to governance and community engagement. As Executive Director of the W. Glen Boyd Charitable Foundation, Michelle guides philanthropic investments that support creative education, access, and long-term community impact.

  • Margie Rikert


    Margie has been a life-long volunteer. She applied her MBA in the for-profit world, but discovered that she wanted her time to have a deeper meaning than just making money. She transitioned to the non-profit world, as a volunteer and then as a staff member managing volunteers in events and projects for various groups. Recently she’s been deeply involved in developing unique and effective systems to re-open Hopewell House in January 2023. She still leads a team of 40 volunteers. Creative, but not an artist, she’s committed to offer help in the rebranding of OAC and to celebrate the OSA’s 100-year success!

    Richard Woodling


    Richard is a registered architect with over 40 years of experience, including 10 years with Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), where he trained in Portland and later served as Managing Director of the firm’s Hong Kong and Miami offices. He is currently Principal and Director of Veritas Design Group Inc.’s U.S. office, collaborating with Baysinger Partners Architects in Portland, and brings a strong international perspective shaped by living in multiple countries and his service as Honorary Consul General to the Philippines with the Oregon Consular Corps.
